Two separate shootings occurred in Daytona Beach on Monday, May 8, 2023, prompting an ongoing investigation by local law enforcement officials.

The first incident was reported just after noon on College Park Street when officers received a report of a person shot. The victim had already transported themselves to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach when officers arrived on the scene and is said to be in stable condition.

The second shooting occurred two hours later at around 2:03 p.m. on George Street, where another victim shot. The second victim was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center and is listed as stable but in critical condition.

Daytona Beach Police Department officials have confirmed that the two shootings are unrelated and remain under investigation.
