Insituform Technologies, a city contractor, will be in multiple Daytona Beach neighborhoods lining sewer pipes starting Monday evening to maintain the city's sanitary sewer lines.
According to a release, crews are working on the following days and streets:
- Monday, January 24 - 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. - Halifax Avenue between Main Street and Harvey Avenue.
- Tuesday, January 25 - 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. - Clyde Morris Boulevard (on the west side of the road just north of International Speedway Boulevard)
- Wednesday, January 26 - 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. - Marion Street
- Thursday, January 27 - 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. - Magnolia Avenue and Marion Street
The maintenance process is a trenchless rehabilitation method used to repair existing pipelines.
The city advises residents to pour one gallon of water down all floor drains during construction. That also includes any barely used bathtubs, sinks, and toilets to keep the water barrier in the traps. In addition, there will be temporary traffic rerouting, sanitary sewer service interruptions, and noise from the process.
Residents should also use utilities less to avoid any sanitary sewer backup. For any questions or concerns, contact (386)671-8816.
