The City of Daytona Beach is replacing old-fashion drinking fountains at several city locations with water bottle fill stations to reduce plastic waste.

According to a release, choosing to refill rather than purchase single-use plastic bottled water is now easier and tastier when visiting a city facility. The stations allow hands-free filling of bottles and include a tracker that counts the number of plastic bottles diverted from landfills.

The upgraded water bottle refill stations are touch-free, environmentally friendly, chill water, and have an added filter.

The nine new fill stations are found at the following locations: 

• Two at City Hall, 301 S. Ridgewood Ave. 
• Two at Public Works facility, 950 Bellevue Ave.* 
• Campbell Aquatic Center, 400 S. Dr. MLK Blvd. * 
• City Island Park, 113 Jackie Robinson Parkway 
• Derbyshire Park, 849 Derbyshire Road 
• Midtown Community Center, 925 George W. Engram Blvd. * 
• Schnebly Recreation Center, 1101 N. Atlantic Ave.
