The City of Daytona Beach has unveiled its latest technological advancement to improve efficiency and accessibility for residents and developers by introducing Intuitive Municipal Solutions (iMS), a cutting-edge online permitting software system. With this new system, the city aims to streamline the building permit process while providing enhanced access to stored data for individual properties and large-scale development projects.

The iMS system replaces the previous software, TRAKit, provided by CentralSquare, and offers a user-friendly interface that makes it easier for residents to search city records like building permits, code compliance cases, land development applications, Business Tax Receipts, and rental property licenses. Furthermore, changing from TRAKit to iMS allowed for the seamless integration of over 15 years of historical information, ensuring a comprehensive and up-to-date database for users.

The transfer of more than a million records from TRAKit to iMS was a significant undertaking that required dedication from city staff over the last year. The city administration recognized the importance of staff training and ensured that employees received comprehensive training on the new system earlier this month, guaranteeing a smooth transition and optimal utilization of iMS' features and capabilities.

The iMS platform offers a range of features designed to enhance user experience and expedite various tasks. Users can access the system through a laptop, tablet, or smartphone, ensuring convenience and flexibility, and can apply for or renew Business Tax Receipts and rental property licenses directly through the platform. The map view functionality allows users to select a specific parcel and instantly view all associated records, providing a comprehensive overview of property-related information.

Furthermore, iMS allows users to conveniently pay permit fees, license fees, code compliance fees, and fines online, eliminating the need for in-person visits or manual transactions. Residents and developers can also request inspections through the system, ensuring a streamlined process for project evaluation and compliance checks.

The search feature within iMS offers multiple options, allowing users to search for specific records based on parcel number, address, application date, owner or project name, and permit or case number. Additionally, users can access code violations and related case information, including photographs, for a more comprehensive understanding of the city's code enforcement activities.

For developers and builders, the iMS platform offers the capability to submit building permits and development review applications electronically, simplifying the application process and reducing paperwork. Moreover, users can conveniently track the status of ongoing development projects through the system, providing real-time updates and eliminating the need for frequent inquiries.

To access the iMS platform, residents and developers can visit the City of Daytona Beach's official website at www.CODB.us/iMS, where users can create an account or continue as a guest before navigating the system according to their needs and preferences. For those requiring assistance setting up a new account, the city has uploaded instructional videos on its website to guide users through the process.
