Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Blvd from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Ridgewood Avenue will be undergoing a streetscape, that is intended to enhance the overall aesthetics, and walkability of the area while also encouraging economic development.
The estimated amount of the project is around $291,300 and is scheduled to start in December 2020 and end in April 2021.
A neighborhood meeting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m., Thursday, November 12, at Joe Harris Park – off Pearl Street – for residents to learn about the streetscape.
The project will include:
- Existing trees will be restored with crape myrtles and sabal palms.
- Pavers will be leveled at the base of the trees to improve the walking surface.
- New benches and trash receptacles.
- Minimal disruption to businesses and motorists.
