The City of Daytona Beach is the recipient of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Grant (HOME) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) yearly, making them an entitlement community. Being an entitlement community means the city must develop a Consolidated Plan that sets goals and priorities for funding and naming target areas in Daytona Beach.

According to a release, CDBG and HOME funds can be used for various activities that must meet one of the following national objectives: assisting low and moderate-income households, eliminating or preventing blight, or responding to an urgent need.

Beginning on December 27, 2022, a 30-day comment period opened for the public to view the Annual Action Plan (PDF) on the city’s website. Public comments can be sent to communitydevelopment@codb.us by Friday, January 27, 2023, at the close of business.
