Recently, Ponce Inlet Mayor Paritsky, Interim Town Manager Michael Disher, and Public Safety Director pro tem Dan Scales met with Senator Tom Wright, the State Senator for District 8, to inform him of the town's needs following Hurricanes Ian and Nicole. However, before the Senator heads to Tallahassee for the 2023 legislative session (which begins in March), he wants to hear from residents in Ponce Inlet!

According to a release, Ponce Inlet residents are encouraged to provide feedback on the following issues:

  • Any difficulties obtaining permits from state agencies for repairs.
  • Compatibility of building materials on the beach.
  • The potential impact of restrictions on construction during sea turtle nesting season starting May 1.

Ponce Inlet residents are encouraged to expand upon these issues and other related concerns via written comments, which Senator Wright will take to the Florida Senate and the Governor to advocate for Ponce Inlet's recovery efforts.

All written concerns should be sent to Senator Wright’s email at wright.tom.web@flsenate.gov.
