Special Events Taskforce to meet Wednesday, September 29.

The Special Events Taskforce, created from the aftermath of June’s Truck Meet event, will hold a meeting on Wednesday, September 29, at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

City and county elected officials will be discussing the management of unsanctioned events and how they work together with mutual aid during sanctioned events.

According to a release, attendees include mayors, managers, and police chiefs from cities on the county’s east side, the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, the Volusia County Chair and Volusia County Beach Safety, as well as leaders from the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Lodging and Hospitality Association of Volusia County.

The public may also attend the meeting.
