Summer Kindergarten Readiness Program Offered for Pre-K Students.

According to a press release sent out early Thursday by Volusia County School Officials, Volusia County Schools has partnered with a nonprofit agency, Waterford, to provide free at-home learning for students who are entering Kindergarten next year.
Waterford’s UPSTART is an in-home kindergarten readiness program that gives your child a fun start in reading, math, and science (with a focus on reading) in just 25 minutes a day, 5 days a week.
Details of the program:
o Waterford’s UPSTART is being offered free of charge to Volusia Students
o The program runs from now through August 31st, 2020.
o Upstart will be offered this summer to PreK students who will enter Kindergarten next year
Families will be able to use free internet service, a free device to use during the program, and a support coach for the duration of the program. Upon the completion of the program, Waterford will be in contact with parents regarding the return of the devices, and internet service.
