The LPGA Boulevard wastewater treatment plant is offering tours to Daytona Beach residents.
On December 8, at 9 a.m., residents can learn about the former direct potable reuse system that the city has operated for two years. In those two years, the facility has gathered enough data to complete the process. Now, the results are in review while a final report is in development.
The treatment facility produced purified water, which returned to the wastewater treatment process and away from the city’s potable supply. Daytona Beach obtained this data through a pilot program with the St. Johns River Water Management District.
Attendance for the tour is limited to fifteen people because of the facility’s smaller space. A minimum of ten participants on a first-come, first-served basis is required for the escort to start.
