The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office took to Twitter Thursday, spreading the word that Sheriff Mike Chitwood was hit while riding his bike.

According to the Tweet, the Sheriff sustained minor injuries but was in good spirits. The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. at Town West Boulevard and Daylily St.

“Thanks for your well wishes, and patience for further information,” Said the Sheriff’s Office in the Tweet.
