Governor Ron DeSantis has issued a state-wide 30-day stay-at-home order for Florida, Wednesday afternoon during a COVID-19 briefing.

The issuance followed a conversation with President Trump who agreed with “the approach of focusing on the hotspots.”

The executive order will allow limited movements and personal interactions between residents of Florida to those who are considered “essential services” or partaking in “essential activities”.

The guidelines and list of essential services and activities come from the Department of Homeland Security and can be found here, but both Surgeon General Scott Rivkees and Jared Moskowitz, Director of Florida Division of Emergency Management, will have the authority to add to the list.

"It makes sense to make this move now," said DeSantis during the briefing.

The Governor will be signing the order this afternoon, and it will go into effect tomorrow, Thursday, April 2, at Midnight and be in effect for 30-days.
