Temporary Closure of Beach Access Points in March and April

Volusia County will temporarily close beach access points at Kingfish Avenue and the central area of Mary McLeod Bethune Beach Park beginning Monday, March 18, for renovations. These improvements are part of an initiative to construct new ADA-compliant beach access structures. During the construction, beachgoers can use the temporary beach access at the southern end of Mary McLeod Bethune Park. The updated access points are expected to reopen in early May.

Additionally, Dahlia Park's beach access will close on Thursday, April 4, for similar upgrades. During this period, visitors are encouraged to use alternative beach access points, such as those at the Dunlawton Beach Ramp or the Demotte Beach Ramp.

Residents and visitors may download the Volusia Beaches app for real-time information on beach access points and to locate a staffed lifeguard tower. This app provides up-to-date information about beach access availability and safety updates.
