With assistance from the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, the Daytona Beach Police Department arrested two men in an early-morning gas station robbery near Daytona International Speedway.

John M. Graham, a 33-year-old Winter Park resident, faces felony charges of robbery with a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit due to his involvement in the crime.

His partner, Klandi T. Brooks - another Winter Park resident, age 24 - faces a felony charge of robbery with a firearm.

The two criminals also face charges from another gas station robbery just before 3:00 a.m. on the same day, at a Circle K off S. Charles R. Beall Boulevard in DeBary. The store clerks told deputies a male suspect came in, demanded cigarettes, then demanded money at gunpoint.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, surveillance footage of the incident showed the suspect was a white male wearing a black hat, black wig, a black covid mask, a gray sweater, black fishnet stockings, and black boots.

A Sunoco employee in Daytona Beach reported the second robbery around 4:45 a.m. after a man wrapped in a blanket, wearing glasses, a wig, a facemask, and yellow shoes pulled a gun on her after asking for a pack of cigarettes from behind the counter.

Officers responded to the scene finding multiple clues of the culprits fleeing the scene, such as tire tracks and the abandoned wig. While searching for the criminals, other Daytona Beach police officers found a U-Haul rental truck that matched a vehicle reported in the DeBary robbery. Graham and Brooks were discovered walking on foot through the nearby Wawa gas station and arrested both men after matching their descriptions.

After their arrest, police found a firearm in Graham’s waistband and keys to the rental truck on Brooks. The two are in custody and held without bond at the Volusia County Branch Jail.
