Victim hospitalized following Daytona Beach shooting.

At around 12:08 p.m. on Friday, June 9, 2023, officers with the Daytona Beach Police Department responded to a call reporting a shooting incident at 624 Roy Avenue in Daytona Beach.

However, upon their arrival, officers discovered that the victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was rushed to Halifax Medical Center by an unidentified individual and is currently undergoing medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Daytona Beach Police Department is conducting an active investigation. More information will be released when it becomes available.

Police have identified a suspect and are working towards an arrest. This incident does not appear to be related to any of the other recent events.

The suspect has been identified as Russell Antonio Rouson Jr, 17. He was located in Bunnel and taken into custody by FCSO on charges of Attempted murder & Possession of a firearm by a delinquent.
