On March 15, 2023, the Volusia County Public Library's fourteen branches will participate in Library Snapshot Day, an event that helps libraries across the county collect statistics, receive comments, and take photographs exhibiting how people use library services. The libraries in Volusia County are inviting everyone to stop by and explore the wide range of services and resources they offer.

"By participating in this event, you can help us demonstrate our libraries' profound impact on our community," said Library Services Director Lucinda Colee.

According to a release, some highlights from the last Snapshot Day, held in 2020 due to the pandemic, include:

  • 8,500 people (approximately) visited a county library.
  • 6,897 items were checked out.
  • 944 questions were answered by librarians.
  • 778 computer sessions were held.
  • 772 individuals attended a program held at a library.
  • 159 received computer literacy training.
  • 63 new library cards were issued.

Furthermore, the library's website received more than 7,000 visits, and 2,756 patrons accessed the library's Wi-Fi for internet access. The Volusia County Public Library provides numerous services to its patrons, including books, audiobooks, e-books, music, movies, online resources, and educational programs.
